Ruthin School has been ranked sixth best independent school in Wales in The Sunday Times Parent Power 2026 – the UK’s most authoritative guide to the country’s leading schools.
The prestigious accolade places Ruthin School among an elite group of Welsh independent schools, recognising excellence in A-level and GCSE results.
Frances King, Headteacher of Ruthin School, said:
We are absolutely delighted to be recognised as one of Wales’s top independent schools in The Sunday Times Parent Power rankings. This award reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire school community – our ambitious students, our talented staff, and of course, our supportive families.
At Ruthin School, we are committed to providing an exceptional education through our High Performance Learning approach. The outstanding turnout at our recent scholarship day, with such strong interest from local families, demonstrates the confidence the community has in what we offer.
This recognition comes at an especially exciting time as we prepare to unveil our new campus development, which will further enhance the learning experience for our students. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and look forward to continuing to inspire and challenge every student to reach their full potential.
The Sunday Times Parent Power rankings are based on academic performance and are widely regarded as the definitive measure of school excellence in the UK.
