We are pleased to share details of the Y Talent Award 2025 – an international art competition now open to students aged 13–18.
The award celebrates young people’s creativity across the world, with shortlisted works to be exhibited at Ruthin School this October. An international judging panel will select the winners, and the Grand Prize is £1,000 in cash. All shortlisted entrants will also receive official certificates.
There is no set theme, and submissions are welcome in a range of 2D art forms – including painting, drawing, illustration, and mixed media.

The ‘Y Talent Award’ is an international visual arts competition to celebrate the creativity of exceptional young artists between the age of 13 to 18 from all around the world. The Y Talent Award is a collaboration between the Y Art Centre, founded by the internationally acclaimed contemporary artist Yue Minjun, and Ruthin School, one of the oldest schools in the UK. The judging panel will select ten prize winners, including one grand prize. The judging panel consists of five professional visual artists, who are honorary members of the Y Art Centre.
